Dr. Philip Urquijo
Dr Phillip Urquijo is a leading experimental particle physicist, with considerable experience in the management of large physics experiments, particularly with the Belle II collaboration in Japan, as well as being deeply involved in data analysis from collider experiments at the LHC.
He is involved in the development and construction of the SABRE South direct detection experiment, including a muon detector that will operate as part of the background-rejection aspect of that experiment. His knowledge of data-analysis techniques will be utilised on the development and implementation of analysis software for SABRE and other experiments to be located at SUPL, such as CYGNUS.
Student supervision and outreach activities within secondary schools will also be important aspects of his role within the Centre.
